Once again, JB brought the fun and energy for my 3 year old! He’s patient and encourages him to push forward and learn. JB has a wonderful way with teaching kids and building their confidence. He makes it so much fun and as soon as my daughter felt a bit uneasy he managed to get her her confidence back and by the end of the day the lift was closing and my daughter still wanted to continue. We had 1 full day and one half day with JB, i wish we could have had more, because my daughter loved having lessons with him. Can recommend this teacher 200%

JB was fantastic!. He is so much fun, and he is also creative, and engaging. After the morning session our daughter told me this was the best day of her life! In the afternoon she got pretty tired but then JB was very good at knowing when to have a break and play in the snow with her and get her interest back. At 3 PM she said she was done with 1 hr still to go. At 3:50 we couldn’t get her off the lift anymore, she just kept going up and down, haha. We are soo looking forward to the next lesson ;-)

JB is the best instructor ever. So knowledgeable and professional, so calm and patient, he was motivating each and everyone of us trying to give everybody the attention we needed. JB was absolutely fantastic from the very beginning. When there was a miscommunication about our arrival time and we arrived late. JB quickly jumped in and helped get us our equipment and boards. We would have missed a good portion of our lesson with a less proactive instructor. He was fantastic at teaching us the basics and my kids and I enjoyed his teaching so much that we returned for a second half day lesson. JB was excellent with my kids but also with me as a beginning adult. So appreciative of him. He sparked our family’s new love of snowboarding.

JB is such an outstanding ski coach. He taught a tough crowd (four beginners ages 4, 5, 6, 7 lol) and he did so with humor, positive energy, kindness, but also with strategy and discipline! Within two days, our girls were able to confidently go up and down the bunny slope and begin to twist / turn down the mountain. They were begging for a third day of classes but we didn't have enough time! We will absolutely book with him again!

We really noticed how quickly JB made a connection with our daughter - he immediately commented on her dragon outfit and then worked dragons into his teaching. We felt JB was really good with teaching kids. He liked using analogies , such as pizza, lemons, & leaf, all throughout the lesson, which was great. His demos of the drills were also great. We really liked his high energy & friendliness. He was encouraging all throughout even when we were doing only so-so. Area to improve: I think the checkin process for the snowschooler lesson at Granlibakken resort felt a bit disorganized. When we arrive, we should just go towards the rentals sign, but some of us would think we need to go towards the snowschooler sign, which would delay the checkin process. I don’t remember anyone telling us where we were to wait to meet with our instructor, but it worked out anyways so I don’t mind, but I can imagine some people would. Thanks for a great lesson!

JB is a great Instructor. Definitely recommend to any beginners looking for skiing course. He understands the nuances of teaching the beginners and is able to push for great progress in short time. ( we took training as couple of adults 39 and 38 with no prior experience) We were able to ski on beginner slope by end of 3 hours session.

JB is an excellent instructor! My children have worked with him (and LOVED him). I'm so grateful he was my instructor this time around. JB was such an amazing ski instructor! My daughter Madeline wanted to learn how to ski but she was a little nervous for her first lesson. JB was so kind because he took the time to teach her simple things like how to put on ski boots and skis. Then JB taught Madeline how to stop in skis. Then she progressed to the rope tow and JB taught her how to ski downhill. By the end of the lesson she was able to take the rope tow up the hill by herself and ski down all on her own. The best part is that she left the lesson feeling confident and happy about her ability to ski. She asked to go skiing again soon. A huge thank you to JB! 😀

Nothing really to improve, he knows what he’s doing and he is very ambition. I’m really happy to be his students and that brought me back again. He really taught me lots more then I could in each lesson. JB insisted and encouraged me, he showed me how to control the board by controlling my body and how sometimes my vision could be my guide by pointing the direction, And he keep telling n showing me my mistakes before we move to a next level and that gave me confident and believe in myself. First of all, he had a unicorn helmet. Bonus points for my 5 year old! JB was great. He was super friendly and had great interaction with my daughter initially to get her comfortable as this was her first time skiing. I mentioned to him what I wanted him to work on with my daughter, and he followed through. He was able to get her to listen and follow his instructions. At one point she fell, and he helped her get right back up and make it down the hill. She was going down the hill by herself after an hour. All day long after her lesson, she kept telling everyone that JB told her she was “basically already a pro”. Thanks for the lesson JB.

For my daughters 4th birthday we signed her and myself up for a ski lesson together with JB. Within the first five minutes she got frustrated and started crying and I thought that might be the end of it but JB handled it so well and knew it was time for change of pace and immediately adjusted the lesson plan. Not only did she complete the full lesson but also loved it and kept telling everyone that she went skiing. Old or young, JB is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor and I very highly recommend him. I picked up a new hobby and my daughter can’t wait to go skiing again. Big bonus we were there celebrating her birthday unicorn theme that weekend and her instructor came out with a unicorn helmet. So cool and she loved it!!!

JB was an amazing instructor for our 4 year old for his very first ski lesson. Our son had never even touched a ski and by the end he was confidently going up the rope tow and skiing down the bunny slope (with help). JB was so great at engaging and supporting our somewhat shy and nervous little guy. He’s really a fantastic teacher and most importantly made it fun! JB was exceptional. It was the first lesson for my special needs (autistic and barely verbal), 3 year old son. JB was so patient with him and found ways to connect with him. By the end of the 1 hour lesson, not only had my son been interested for the whole hour, but he had started to scoot around on both skis. Now he knows the word "skiing" and looks forward to next time. Incredibly amazing. I would highly recommend JB.

Lesson was early, on a Sunday. He was super motivated and kept my 9 year old pumped up and in two lessons got her to ski confidently. She can now go you the lift and come down the mountain without falling. She never skied before. Made my kid love skiing and he was very positive and attentive on top of being super instructive. JB was so much fun with his unicorn helmet and an amazing instructor! He was calm and patient with my family in our first ski lesson ever. We had so much fun! My boys want to come back as soon as possible to have more lessons with JB. We definitely recommend the place and JB!!! We all loved it!
