About Adam Garon

From the white mountains of New England, I have enjoyed winter snow play since my early youth. Be it hiking in the mountains, biking, skiing, or snowboarding, mountain activities have always called to me. I am happiest when invited to share this passion with others. Lessons can focus on resort navigation, beginner basics, terrain park fundamentals, and all levels of free ride novice through intermediate.

Adam was a great instructor for our daughter. It took a while for her to get on the hill, but once she did, Adam was quickly able to gain her trust and they were skiing down in no time. We appreciated his patience with her and she was able to build up a little bit more confidence.

Liked the methodical approach to teaching beginners, from how to click on and off the skis, to side stepping and going only part way up the bunny hill and repeating this several times. He was not overly encouraging or super motivating though and maybe wasn’t used to teaching older children. As he was explaining how to arrange themselves on the hill, he asked my 10 year old “do you know left from right??”

Adam was such an outstanding instructor. It was my daughter's very first ski lesson and she's super shy. Adam was so patient with her and made her feel so comfortable. She warmed up to him quickly and still can't stop talking about all of the things he taught her. She's already asked when she can have her next lesson with him. Thank you so very much Adam! You are such a sweet and amazing instructor! We hope to see you again soon!

Hello there I know I’m reviewing this late, but I’m planing to come this weekend and my last experience was really awful. It was my second time to snowboarding and I haven’t learn from this instructor as much as I leaned from JB even though it was my first time ever to be on snowboard with him . JB taught me and showed me how to begin snowboarding safely as first time and he made me practice the skills and kept watching me and giving me tips and giving me advices by physically snowboarding not just talking. However Adam wasn’t really giving attention and was just talking way more than practicing, and most of the time checking his phone or the time or talking to someone. When I ask him how much time left he just tells you it’s like waiting for my lesson to be over, why would you change my time and instructor to be YOURS if you were not ready to give a lesson. Anyway I wouldn’t take this lesson again with Adam even if it’s for free.

Adam was great at teaching the same principle a few different ways, so I was able to fully understand. He allowed me to progress at my own pace, never pushed beyond what I was comfortable trying. I loved the experience and I'm sure I will do it again in the future!

He was not engaging and not attentive to my kid. Mount Rose has a much better program even with larger classes.

This was probably one of our worst instructor experiences. Adam was constantly on his phone until I told him it was not OK. He seemed to be completely uninterested in his job, which made the whole experience quite dismal for my kids. For my 9 year old he was totally useless, did not help, so much so that my son got disheartened in the middle of the class and stopped. Adam should have cared more, helped more, encouraged more, instead of standing 20 feet away giving intermittent instructions, while sounding disinterested and bothered. Bottom line is - if you offered me another 3-hour session with Adam for FREE, I would not take it - that would be a complete waste of my family’s time and effort!

Adam was very personable, kind and patient with my daughter. He made the lesson fun, and it was pouring rain! Lily learned so much her first lesson. Adam had her go part way up on the bigger hill at Granlibakken by the end of her very first lesson ever.

Adam was great! Great approach and very patient with our girls. My only wish is that you offered shorter lessons. My little one ended up only lasting about 15 minutes, and my older one for only about an hour - so it was VERY expensive for what it turned out to be. Great location and a setting for a couple of first timers.

Adam was very helpful establishing a foundation for snowboarding in a very short period of time (1 hour). His instructions gave us the basics we needed to become beginner snowboarders. My only constructive criticism would be that my wife and I had a little trouble hearing him at times. Otherwise, his is instructions were excellent!

I worked closely with Adam at Diamond Peak, and he was one of our most requested snowboard and ski instructor at the Children’s Center. In addition, he trained nearly every week and passed his Level 1 Snowboard and Level 1 Alpine in one season. He is one of the most hard working individuals I know and is super driven inside. He is organized, efficient, extremely competent, and has an excellent rapport with people of all ages.
